Entrepreneurship
Industrial Growth
A large sector of the Nigerian economy is derived from agriculture, and women are key producers in this area (1). The agricultural sector grew to 3.4% in 2017 despite stagnation in other sectors (2). This steady economic growth signifies its vast potential. ADA OKO USA believes that entrepreneurship is critical to women's empowerment. Inadequate access to financial support limits the development of the economy by the private sector. Gender inequality is also a progressive hindrance to economic growth (3), and ADA OKO USA's mission is to eliminate the longstanding inequality and support women entrepreneurs financially. In addition, Nigeria is a developing country where innovation is rising. Twenty percent of the workforce is looking at contemporary ways to drive the economy with new businesses(4). ADA OKO USA aims to nourish these innovative ideas at the start-up level and teach women how to use their talents to create entrepreneurial opportunities.
